A hydrogen explosion at Poland’s Zaklady Azotowe Kedzierzyn (ZAK) led to eight injuries and forced the company's ammonia unit to shut down, the company said on Wednesday.
ZAK said the situation "is under control", with hydrogen being flared. The incident was believed to have been caused by a pipe leakage, according to a company spokesman.
A few employees suffered minor injuries from shattered glass, ZAK said. Two received hospital treatment, but no fatalities were reported.
ZAK said the incident posed no risk to surrounding people and the environment.
